Looking back on the last two weeks...

With the impending holiday, I am embarrassed to say that I got VERY behind on our classroom blog!  To say we had an exciting two weeks is an understatement.  We had a great time learning and exploring.  I hope you enjoy seeing the pictures from our past adventures!  Please visit the Lessons page for this weeks lesson plans. We will be studying household chores this week, and we will be studying different areas of home living for the next month with a review the last week of January. Please practice these skills at home with your student as we study them.  As always, thank you for being great!

David, Jana, and Hope are having fun slappin' our sight words!

The students had a great time learning about how important it is to get moving to stay healthy!

We had a great field trip with the junior high school!  We went shopping at Dollar Tree, visited the public library, had Pizza Hut for lunch...

...AND spent the afternoon bagging groceries (and making MONEY!) at Discount Grocery.  Our students did a great job!

We also celebrated Sheron's birthday, and a special visitor showed up for the party.

Heyyyyy Santa!

Mrs. Mitchell and Mr. Miller put on a great party for all three classrooms!  Mr. Dennis even made an appearance to read us a story!

After our shopping trip, we learned how to wrap gifts.  We wrapped all of the gifts for our families!

Great job wrapping, guys!

Party Time!

Thank you, Fox's Pizza for our jumbo pizza for our party!  We sure enjoyed it.

Our first gifts of the Day:

Secret Santa gifts, each student drew a name of another student in the room.  During our shopping trip, they chose one gift for that person.

Nurse Kim and Nurse Janie came for the party!

Classroom Santa brought lots of things for our students!

Emily made an appearance too!!

Kameron P. (football player) had a special surprise for D'Shawn! An autographed football!

On our last half-day of school, Bonnie, my labradoodle, joined us.  She loved reading with the students!

What an exciting two weeks!  We had a great time.  I hope everyone has gotten LOTS of rest and is ready for a great start back to school!
